BCCI President: The newly elected BCCI president, Roger Binny, stated on Tuesday that he wanted to concentrate mostly on player injury prevention. Sourav Ganguly was replaced as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India by former India fast bowler Roger Binny (BCCI). The 1983 World Cup champion will serve as the 36th head of the Indian cricket federation. Mumbai hosted the 91st Annual General Meeting of the BCCI. Binny was the only candidate who put in his candidacy for the top job, it should be mentioned.
“As president of the BCCI, I want to focus primarily on two things. The first priority is protecting gamers from harm. Just before the World Cup, Jasprit Bumrah had an injury that changed the entire strategy. Second, I want to concentrate on the pitches around the nation.” ANI was told by BCCI President Roger Binny.
The BCCI Secretary will still be Jay Shah. The BCCI Treasurer has been named Ashish Shelar. Devajit Saikia will serve as joint secretary, while Rajeev Shukla will serve as vice president.
In 27 test games and 72 ODIs, Binny has played for India. The right-arm bowler picked up 77 ODI wickets in addition to 47 in tests. Being the best wicket-taker for India in the 1983 World Cup with 18 wickets, he was a significant factor in India’s first-ever World Cup victory.
The Women’s IPL has received approval from the Indian Cricket Board in the interim. There will be a later announcement addressing the window and schedule. Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s Future Tour Programs for 2022–2025 and 2023–2027, respectively, were also authorised by AGM on Tuesday.
During the AGM, however, the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) chairmanship was not discussed. The forthcoming board meeting in Melbourne will elect the new ICC chairman.
Given that the ICC chairman nomination deadline is October 20, it is unlikely that the BCCI will present its own candidate for the role.
