Roger Binny, a former cricketer for India and a part of the 1983 World Cup-winning squad, is reportedly in line to succeed Sourav Ganguly as BCCI President.
According to BCCI insiders, Roger Binny, a former Indian cricketer and member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team, will likely succeed Sourav Ganguly as BCCI President. Binny has previously participated in the BCCI selection process. Former bowler Roger Binny is thought to be Ganguly’s top rival to succeed him as BCCI president, with Jay Shah likely to remain in that position.
In place of KSCA secretary Santosh Menon, Roger Binny’s name appeared on the BCCI’s draught electoral rolls, which were posted on the BCCI website, for the elections on October 18 and the annual general meeting on Thursday. All of this sparked rumours that a former seamer was the front-runner to become BCCI President.
Sourav Ganguly would likely represent India as the chairman of the International Cricket Council, according to reports.
On October 11 and 12, candidates may submit their nominations, the nominations will be reviewed on October 13, and candidates may withdraw their submissions at the latest on October 14. On October 18, elections will take place here.
