Cricket News: Sourav Ganguly, a former president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), called for the inclusion of sports in the curriculum of schools across the nation on Friday because it may help students develop their life skills. Ganguly, a former captain of the Indian cricket team, argued for the right of every kid to receive education in a video message prior to World Children’s Day on November 20.
“I ask that all kids be given the chance to play and that sports be a mandatory component of their schooling on behalf of the kids. Sports can help children learn and develop life skills, according to Ganguly, who was quoted in a UNICEF social media post.
Beginning on November 14—National Children’s Day—and running through November 20—World Children’s Day—UNICEF organises a week of events celebrating child achievers. The UN organisation has devoted the year 2022 to sports, especially the success of young athletes.
“Regardless of a kid’s gender, class, caste, or religion, every child should have the right to obtain a high-quality education. Do you know that investing in the education of girls has the power to change entire communities, nations, and the world?” Ganguly, the girl’s father who attends college, stated.
“Come together to ensure that all children remain in school and continue studying,” the former cricket player pleaded with everyone.
According to West Bengal UNICEF Mohammad Mohiuddin, Ganguly’s activism would increase public awareness of children’s issues and inspire people to take action for change.
Ganguly has also shown his support for kids by starring in the movie “Heroes,” which is about young athletes who achieved notable success in the sports world.
The movie shows how these kids spend their life, their struggles, worries, and triumphs.
The movie also includes messages from UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Priyanka Chopra, UNICEF Regional Ambassador for South Asia Sachin Tendulkar, and UNICEF India Celebrity Advocate Ayushman Khurana.
