T20 World Cup 2022: In advance of the 2022 T20 World Cup, veteran Indian pacer Mohammed Shami posted pictures of his trip to Australia on Wednesday, October 12. He will travel to Perth with the Indian team, along with fellow fast bowler Mohammed Siraj and all-arounder Shardul Thakur.
Shami hasn’t participated in a T20 International match since the final T20 World Cup in the UAE in December 2021. A lengthy rehabilitation period prevented him from playing in the home series against Australia and South Africa after he tested positive for COVID-19 in September of this year.
The pacer posted four images from the aircraft, which he boarded at the Bengaluru airport:
“It is now time for the T20 World Cup.”

He received good luck wishes from former Indian cricketers Mohammed Kaif, Irfan Pathan, and Munaf Patel in the comments.
Jasprit Bumrah is hurt, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet named a replacement. Shami is thought to be the front-runner because of his background. The team management’s decision, however, maybe a little difficult given Siraj’s recent performance, which included five wickets at an economy rate of 4.52 in the three ODIs against the Proteas.

The current pace attack lacks variation even though it has succeeded in the IPL. The team’s need for Siraj or Shami will be crucial, especially given the brisk and bounce-friendly conditions in Australia.
Although the Bengal pacer made his T20I debut at the 2014 T20 World Cup, he has only appeared in 17 T20I games for India. He has taken 18 wickets at an average of 31.56, a strike rate of 19.83, and a somewhat higher 9.55 economy rate.
He has only participated in one T20I match in Australia, bowling a 0/46 session in 2021.
