T20 World Cup: India fell short to South Africa by 5 wickets in their Group 2 match on Sunday in Perth. David Miller’s commanding performance came after a stunning start by South African pacers that had India reduced to 49 for 5 at one point in the game. The Proteas also played outstanding defence during the game. After captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first, they took advantage of every opportunity to put the Indian hitters under pressure for the duration of the first innings.
While every South African fielder made a good effort, Kagiso Rabada’s effort stood out. The South African pacer helped his team eliminate Indian batsman Hardik Pandya by taking a spectacular catch at deep fine leg.
Hardik attempted to play a pull shot on the third delivery of the ninth over, which was bowled by Lungi Ngidi. Although he attempted to hold the ball down, the ball flew to Rabada at deep fine leg due to an outside edge on his bat.
It appeared briefly that Rabada would catch the ball in front of him, but the South African fielder moved quickly and made a superb diving catch just inches above the ground.
