Arsenal and West Ham agree on record amount for Rice
According to reporter David Ornstein, the London clubs reached an agreement on the transfer amount on Tuesday evening. It concerns a sum of 115.8 million euros, with possibly another 5.8 million euros in bonuses. Never before has such a large amount been involved in a transfer of a player within the Premier League.
Arsenal and West Ham would now only be discussing payment terms. Manchester City has dropped out, multiple sources have confirmed. The Premier League champion previously matched an offer from Arsenal worth around 104 million euros.
Rice, 24, must become the new number 6 in Mikel Arteta’s team, which exceeded expectations in the past season. Five points behind City, Arsenal finished second in the Premier League. The Gunners want to advance by adding Rice to their dominating midfielder lineup in place of Thomas Partey.

Mikel Arteta, his new trainer, is thrilled with the purchase. “Kai is a top-quality player,” he said. “He is a skilled player with a lot of versatility. He will significantly increase our midfield’s strength and add diversity to our style of play. Kai and his family are welcome at Arsenal, and we are all excited to work with him as we get ready for the season.”
Havertz has recently been a supporting actor for Chelsea. 32 goals were scored by the German in 139 official games. In 2021 he won the Champions League with the London club.
