Agreement has been reached within West Ham United about Declan Rice’s price tag, reports Sky Sports. The English medium states that a few days before the Conference League match against AZ, the asking price was set at more than 138 million euros.
West Ham United is asking more than 130 million euros for its big star
That is the equivalent of 120 million pounds, an asking price that very few clubs can meet. However, the price is in line with the widespread interest in Rice. According to English media, Arsenal has already shown the most concrete interest in the 24-year-old midfielder towards the coming transfer period. The 41-time England international is also high on the wish list of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool.
Rice has made it known within West Ham that he would like to leave for a club that is active in the Champions League. Playing on the highest European stage would fulfill a wish of the controller. West Ham have promised Rice and his guidance that they will not stand in the way of the dream if a good offer comes along. A huge profit beckons for The Hammers. Rice was picked up from Chelsea’s youth academy in 2013 on a free transfer.
According to Gary Neville, analyst at Sky Sports, the current number fifteen in the Premier League is setting too high an asking price. “I love Declan Rice, but he still has a lot of steps to take to get to the level of Casemiro and Rodri,” said the former Manchester United defender, who would spend a maximum of €70 million on the coveted midfielder as a policymaker.
According to Kieran Trippier, Rice is even better than Casemiro and Thomas Partey
“Declan is really unbelievable,” Trippier, Rice’s teammate on the England national team, said in Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE. “He’s probably one of the best players in the world at what he does.” The defender acknowledges that Casemiro and Partey are top performers in the Premier League this season. But thinks Rice is still above them.
He continued, “Don’t get me wrong, Casemiro is also a world class player. But at the moment Declan is really peerless. His intelligence on the ball, knowing when to slow down or speed up, his dribbling, his power. Really unbelievable. And he also has an attractive age for clubs.”
