Auxerre 1-3 Lens
It has been a difficult season for Auxerre and after another defeat on Saturday, relegation from Ligue 1 was a fact. The team lost 1–3 in Lens’ home game.
The score was opened by Lens in the 19th minute after a goal from Alexis Claude-Maurice, on a pass from Loïs Openda. Immediately after the break, Claude-Maurice asserted himself for a second time and increased the lead for Lens. M’Baye Niang softened the score for Auxerre in the 71st minute. But Auxerre was unable to get back into the game. Openda extended Lens’ lead with an assist from Florian Sotoca in the 78th minute.
Lens has seven wins in a row. In the last five games, Auxerre has drawn twice and lost three, while Lens has five wins.
RC Lens managed to win its last game of the season and therefore finished just one point behind champions PSG. Loïs Openda also asserted himself again on Saturday evening and was the executioner of AJ Auxerre with an assist (on the 0-1) and a goal (on the 1-3), which has been relegated from Ligue 1 due to this defeat. Auxerre was passed by FC Nantes, who defeated Angers.
Troyes, Ajaccio and Angers were already certain of relegation.
Monaco 1-2 Toulouse
Toulouse won the away game against Monaco on Saturday. The game in Ligue 1 ended in 1-2. No goals were scored before the break and it was not until the 70th minute that Zakaria Aboukhlal scored to give Toulouse the lead. Wissam Ben Yedder equalized for Monaco in the 78th minute. The decisive goal for Toulouse was scored at the very end of the game by Rhys Healey, on a pass from Rafael Rogerio da Silva.
Monaco have won one, drawn once and lost three times in their last five matches, while Toulouse have won one win and four draws. This was Monaco’s fourth one-goal defeat this season. This was also Toulouse’s sixth win by one goal. Now that the final score is known, Monaco ends in sixth place and Toulouse in thirteenth place. At Toulouse, Stijn Spierings was missing due to a suspension. Thijs Dallinga remained on the bench for the entire match.
