Bayern Munich and Internazionale continue World Cup tradition of having a representative at the final since 1982

Bayern Munich and Internazionale continue a very special World Cup tradition that goes back to the final tournament in 1982. Again, the two clubs have (at least) a representative in the final.

The German and the Italian club have both had at least one representative with one of the two remaining candidates for the world title since the World Cup in Spain.

This time, too, that tradition is continued with France – Argentina. Bayern still has the necessary irons in the fire with the French Benjamin Pavard, Dayot Upemecano and Kingsley Coman. Internazionale has to make do with the Argentinian Lautaro Martínez.

The tradition started in 1982 with the final Italy – Germany. Beppe Bergomi, Gabriele Oriali and Alessandro Altobelli were active on the World Cup stage on behalf of Inter. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Paul Breitner, Wolfgang Dremmler represented Spain. In 2010, the Dutchmen Arjen Robben, Mark van Bommel and Wesley Sneijder maintained the series.
