Karim Benzema believes Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe will play for Real Madrid at some point in his career. So, among today’s breaking football news, Benzema reveals Mbappe will join Real Madrid, just not this summer – perhaps in January.
La Liga giants Real Madrid were willing to pay a whopping £197 million for 22-year-old Kylian Mbappe on deadline day.
However, Los Blancos eventually backed down after PSG failed to respond to their offer (read this summer’s failed football transfers).
But Mbappe himself, who is in the final year of his contract with PSG, still wants to join Real Madrid.
In fact, the Frenchman will look to sign a pre-contract agreement with Real head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s team in January.
Breaking Football News – Benzema Reveals Mbappe Will Join Real
Karim Benzema is Kylian Mbappe’s teammate for France, with whom they played Euro 2020. Benzema and Mbappe both also started in France’s 1-1 World Cup draw with Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday night.
Benzema, himself a Real Madrid legend, believes it is only a matter of time before his compatriot joins him there.
“He is a player whom one day or another will play for Real Madrid. We get on very well and I would like him to already be with me in Madrid,” Benzema told RTL.
“I don’t know what will happen [with his future], but Mbappe would be welcome at Real Madrid. He is a player who has all the qualities to be a Real Madrid player in the future.”
Mbappe has made a bright start to the new campaign with PSG, despite his transfer saga troubling them all summer.
He has already scored three goals in his opening four Ligue 1 matches, including a brace against Reims last weekend.
