Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt may require an operation to fix the shoulder problems that have bothered him since November, reports.
The Corriere di Torino reports that the condition has bothered the young defender for a while, and that he will require a surgery.
De Ligt has appeared 35 times in all of this term’s tournaments, including five in the Champions League, helping the Old Lady reach the final 16 of the competition.
His shoulder problem began at the end of last year when he dislocated his shoulder to Atalanta, and he has been suffering then.
The Bianconeri worry about the health of Matthijs de Ligt, as the shoulder started to bring problems to the Dutch defender during the 3-3 draw with Sassuolo.
An intervention could be required to fix the issue once and for all and then the 21-year-old might be out before the start of next season.
The club and the player have to make a decision, with the Champions League final games and Juventus still involved.
While deciding how De Ligt will act until the season is finished, Juventus should have Olympique Lyonnais in mind, worrying he won’t recover in time for the all-important tie against Ligue 1 side.
