After Lionel Messi, the best football player in the world, joined Paris Saint-Germain, fellow Argentinian Ángel Di María has spoken. Himself a Paris Saint-Germain player since 2015, Di María always wanted to play with his Argentina teammate at PSG too.
Every Spanish football fan will have found the football transfer of the legend Lionel Messi strange and deeply upsetting.
Even stranger for Spanish fans may have been to watch El Clasico rivalries turn instantly into friendship, and comradeship.
Former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos greeted former Barcelona captain Lionel Messi in the Paris Saint-Germian gym as new teammates.
This was when Messi arrived for his first day of training at Paris Saint-Germain, who have the best football team.
The two former rivals and La Liga captains even hugged each other.
Messi and Ramos both joined PSG on free transfers from Barcelona and Madrid, respectively, after the end of last season.
During their time at Camp Nou and the Santiago Bernabeu, they were arch-rivals.
They even embodied the opposing, yet equally honourable, values of the two clubs.
While Messi embodied the pure spirit of beautiful football, Ramos embodied the sanctity of victory that the sport cherishes.
But now that they’re together, it’s a terrifying sight for the rest of European football.
Ramos is likely to form an unbreakable defensive partnership with Marquinhos. He may even do so with Presnel Kimpembe, if the Brazilian is used as a midfielder.
On the other hand, Messi will line up alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, which fact he described as “crazy.” Watch the extensive interview in football live today.
Finally, there’s also Ángel Di María to consider.
Di María Always Wanted to Play with His Argentina Teammate at PSG Too
Fellow Argentine Ángel Di María is a close friend of Lionel Messi’s, Messi who is captain of Argentina’s national team.
“I’m more than happy,” Di María said as reported by Roger Nemer about Messi’s arrival.
“Everything I dreamed about happened in one month; winning the Copa [America] and being able to play with Leo in the same team. It’s what I’ve always wanted.”
It’s not known how Pochettino will fit Di María into his attack. But he’s an excellent alternative, a force of nature on the attacking bench, at the very least.
