In an interview with ESPN Argentina, El Cholo shared various things. He looked back at his career and further discussed things off the field.
Diego Simeone said, “The only way to be able to sustain so many years of stability within the club is by winning or always being among the top 3. We play in a league where the Champions League champion is normally.
“We have competed very well and we want to continue competing. The title with Estudiantes and LaLiga that we won here on the Barcelona pitch.
“As a coach I am giving everything I have to Atlético de Madrid, it is a way of life. Give without waiting and then things will happen as they have to, but always giving the best that one has.
“One is always the same way, at work and in life. He gives himself or does not give himself, he is passionate or he is not passionate, he is calm or intense.
“Defeat is sadness, it makes you analyze some things that when you win too much you forget. Losing for the teams and coaches who are accustomed to winning makes them angry.
“Rodrigo de Paul plays much better than I used to. He has great leadership on the pitch. I hope he reaches the World Cup in the best possible way.
