Emiliano Martínez has crossed a line with his questionable behavior towards Kylian Mbappé. Noël Le Graët thinks so. The French federation chairman has expressed his great displeasure with his Argentinian colleague Claudio Tapia.
During the celebrations of the Argentinian selection in Buenos Aires, goalkeeper Martínez let himself go on Tuesday. Mbappé had to take the brunt of this. The thirty-year-old goalkeeper carried a baby doll with the head of the French attacker on it during the parade.
It was not the only time Martínez mocked Mbappé. A limit has been reached for Le Graët. “I have written to my colleague from the Argentine federation that I find the excesses abnormal in the context of a football match,” Le Graët told Ouest-France. “I find it difficult to understand. It’s going too far. Mbappé’s behavior is exemplary.”
Le Graët also said in conversation with Ouest-France that legal action has been taken against the people who have treated Kingsley Coman, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Randal Kolo Muani racist on social media.
Olivier Giroud’s shirt saga
In other perhaps lighter news involving the French national team, Australia striker Jason Cummings was less than happy after the World Cup match against France. Kylian Mbappé and Olivier Giroud, who ignored him in his search for a shirt. Giroud has now responded with a wink.
Cummings hoped to score a shirt after the match, but Mbappé and Giroud easily passed him. “Giroud, please, can I have your shirt? I’m a big fan, can I have your shirt please?,” asked the Central Coast Mariners striker. “He just walked past me, pretending he didn’t speak English. He played in the Premier League for ten years.”
After the World Cup, Giroud returned to Cummings’ words via Twitter. What seems? Giroud did swap shirts with an Australian, just not with Cummings.
Things did end well for Cummings at the end of the day, as he did get his hands on a match shirt. As he came across Jules Kounnde who agreed to swap shirts.
