Florian Thauvin: French winger Flo Thauvin who currently plays for Tigres UANL in the Liga MX in Mexico is best known for his two spells in Marseille. The Orléans born athlete has scored 86 goals in 281 appearances for Olympique de Marseille. He was also a part of the French national team that won the World Cup in Russia.
The Frenchman made the move to Mexico in May 2021 after his contract ran out with Les Olympiens. This move saw him reunite with former Marseille teammate André-Pierre Gignac.
Things, however, have not panned exactly how Florian Thauvin would have expected. After being a staple of the Marseille squad for the past few years, Florian has just made 22 appearances for his club and has managed five goals. Furthermore, the club managed to finish just 4th in the Apertura.
The 29 year old in a documentary on Canal+ has revealed interest from AC Milan in signing him up ahead of his move to San Nicolás de los Garza.
“My future was meant to be at Milan. What happened was that it took time because they didn’t know what their budget would be for the next year. They didn’t know if they were going to be in the Champions League, and they had important players to tie down. They asked me for some time. When we got to April, I didn’t want to wait anymore,” Thauvin said.
