Flamengo has made an attractive offer to free agent Isco Alarcón, the renowned Brazilian medium UOL Esporte reports. The five-time Champions League winner is transfer-free and is looking for a new challenge after his departure from Sevilla.
Flamengo wants to seduce Isco with an offer of millions
Isco would be interested in the proposal from Brazil and has asked former teammate Marcelo about Flamengo, among others. The top club from Rio de Janeiro is having a successful period. In October last year, the Copa Libertadores was won. At Flamengo, David Luiz, Filipe Luís and Arturo Vidal already have several other veterans under contract.
In nine seasons with Real Madrid, Isco won the Champions League five times. He left Real on a free transfer in August last year and opted for Seville, where his contract was terminated by mutual agreement at the end of December. In January, the Andalusian playmaker was close to a move to Union Berlin, but that deal fell through.
In Brazil, Isco could earn half a million euros a month. At Spain, the attacking midfielder is also linked to Real Betis and Villarreal, but the interest from those clubs has not yet become concrete.
Piqué tells his story about quitting mid-season
Speaking of players who quit La Liga in the middle of the season, at the beginning of November, Gerard Piqué suddenly decided to hang up his shoes. In an interview with RAC1, the former Barcelona player explains his decision, which has pleased him so far.
Piqué indicates that he has not felt so appreciated in the latter days of his career. “I’ve always said I’d stop if I didn’t enjoy it anymore or if I didn’t feel important. And the latter was the case and that gave me a bad feeling,” he revealed. “That was the best for me, for the team and really for everyone.”
“You notice that you get a different role and that it takes a lot of energy if you don’t play anymore,” he said. After more than six hundred duels in the first team of Barcelona, the Catalan can now focus on his football retirement. The former defender added, “I don’t miss playing football, not at all. There comes a time when you stop and then you realize what you missed over the weekend. I have more time than ever and have stepped into a whole new life.”
