Olivier Giroud left Milan’s training ground before the session ended and will not be able to play against Venezia tomorrow. After he recently contracted coronavirus (football news) and suffered an injury, Giroud abandoned training with Milan ahead of facing Venezia.
Tomorrow, AC Milan will look to avenge their first Serie A draw against the newly-promoted side, in 2021-22, of Venezia.
So far this season, the Rossoneri have won both of their home games and are off to a good start. They have only dropped points only on the road against Juventus in Serie A and Liverpool in the Champions League.
Indeed, Olivier Giroud scored twice in a 4-1 win over Cagliari but has since battled coronavirus and a back injury.
Ante Rebic has stepped up in Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s absences, both owing to injury. And Rebic has been scoring in the last two games and contributing two assists in four Serie A games.
But still, AC Milan have now gone two games without a win after losing to Liverpool and drawing with Juventus.
Giroud Abandoned Training with Milan ahead of Facing Venezia
And now, Sky Sport Italia journalist Peppe Di Stefano reports, forward Olivier Giroud has not recovered from his back problem.
The former Chelsea striker, one of their latest football transfers, sustained this setback after the 3-2 Champions League defeat to Liverpool.
As a result, he was missing from Milan’s 1-1 draw away at Allianz Arena against Juventus, three days ago.
In fact, now, due to the same injury concerns, the Frenchman reportedly left Milanello while the team was still training.
So, he will not be available to coach Stefano Pioli tomorrow, when Milan play another Serie A match, with Venezia.
