Guido Albers made Van de Beek leave Ajax for Old Trafford in the summer of 2020 as part of a 39 million euro deal between the two clubs. However, he has yet to make a name for himself in the Premier League, neither at Everton nor Manchester United.
This season, the Dutchman has only played 19 minutes total. All of which came in the opening three match days.
He switched agents to Ali Dursun after failing to persuade Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick, or ten Hag to leave the club last summer. The Dutch midfielder’s former agent has discussed his status at Manchester United as a result.
On the most recent episode of the #DoneDeal podcast, the player’s former agent, Guido Albers, said, “He used to train 10 hours a day to prove he was good.”
“He was infuriated by Manchester United’s treatment of him. And I carefully observed what I did to make things better. But from the moment he was forbidden from leaving Manchester United once more, it was over. In the Netherlands, Donny was widely praised for his performances and was well-liked by the crowd. He never played for Manchester United. He and the club’s relationship have truly cooled down,” added Albers.
“Instead of a young man who trained for ten hours every day for eight weeks, they picked Pogba. Who arrived late for practise but afterwards apologised and was permitted to play again.”
