Juventus icon Marco Tardelli believes that his former employer would be wise to make a decision in the situation around Paul Pogba. The former world champion with Italy sees the midfielder as a troublemaker within Juventus.
Pogba (29) returned to Juventus last summer, but has not yet played for De Oude Dame since his transfer from Manchester United due to injuries. At the end of January, Pogba was back in the selection in the lost home game with Monza, but was then missing in Juventus’ last three games.
Tardelli, who played more than 250 games for Juventus between 1975 and 1985 and became champion five times, believes that Juve must intervene. “Pogba hasn’t played a game since April. And no one knows when he will return. Pogba then decides to go on winter sports while Juventus and therefore his teammates are in big trouble,” said Tardelli at Rai 2.
“Pogba has become a big problem within the club and it’s up to Juventus to solve it. They apparently have no idea how to handle this situation. You really wouldn’t want a player like that on your payroll. I find his behavior annoying and it’s not fair to his teammates either,” Tardelli concludes.
Allegri’s confrontation with a fan
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri got into a heated argument with a Juventus fan in the stands at the home game against Fiorentina on Sunday. The remarkable incident took place after a disallowed goal from Fiorentina.
Gaetano Castrovilli thought to help Fiorentina with a point on a visit to Juventus shortly before time. But the goal was rejected after a VAR intervention due to offside. Earlier in the game, a goal by Dusan Vlahovic was also canceled for the same reason.
Allegri got into a fight with a hot Juventus fan after Castrovilli’s disallowed goal. The trainer of De Oude Dame shouted “Shut up” and “Come here” towards the supporter. At DAZN, Allegri backtracked on the incident after the game, “I don’t like it when people come to the stadium to insult players, I find that disrespectful.”
Afterwards, Allegri went into more detail about the offside situations in the rejected goals of Vlahovic and Castrovilli. In both cases it was about millimeter work. “We shouldn’t disallow goals when you’re offside with your hair alone. Then we should all measure my haircut,” said the Juve trainer.
FIFA is reportedly looking into changing the current offside rule. There should then be obvious space between the players involved in an offside situation. “I think it’s good to explore that,” Allegri says. Juventus occupies ninth place in Serie A after the victory.
