Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz finds a club’s long-term strategy just as essential as their present form.
So, he will make a move to a team that have not qualified for next season’s Champions League, reports.
Havertz, who can also play as a forward, scored 17 goals in 43 games for Leverkusen this season.
The 21-year-old Germany international has two years remaining on his deal and wants to quit the Bundesliga club this summer.
He has been linked with Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Chelsea, who host Norwich on Tuesday, are third in the Premier League but lead fourth-placed Leicester and fifth-placed Manchester United by one point only.
However, only the top four will qualify for the Champions League next season. After Manchester City’s European ban was removed on Monday, it is uncertain which teams will secure a spot now.
