Julien Fournier has been appointed as the Managing Director Sport of Parma Calcio. He has taken over the responsibilities for the entire sporting area.
This would be the Frenchman’s first role outside of his nation. He started his career in Marseille as the Secretary general in 2005. He would then go on to be appointed as the president of Strasbourg.
This was followed by 11 years of management at OGC Nice. Which came to an end on July 2022.
He now moves to Italy. Parma announced: “Parma Calcio are pleased to announce that Julien Fournier has been appointed as the new Managing Director Sport of the Club. He will be responsible for the entire sporting area, immediately from today.
“President Kyle Krause and Parma Calcio welcomed Julien for this new start and their professional path together.
“Parma Calcio are pursuing a corporate model with two Managing Directors, respecting both the enterprise balance and the wish of the property, which is oriented to increase the value of the club in all its aspects and make it more and more competitive for the most prestigious national and international stages.
“Julien Fournier, with 20 years of experience, 11 leading OGC Nice, will bring his professional competencies and professional skills in line with the growth of the Club. He will work closely with Luca Martines, already appointed in the role of Managing Director Corporate and in charge of the enterprise aspects.”
“I am proud and I thank President Kyle Krause for choosing me to join this great European club and take up this challenge. I have always needed passion and competition to do my job and that is what I came to Parma for,” said Julien Fournier.
