Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman’s contract renewal with Barcelona is conditional, with Catalan president Joan Laporta setting the conditions. As we already reported the criteria for his extension in news of football transfers, it depends on too many things.
While every coach’s position depends on results, that is especially at an outfit as big as the Catalan club, Barcelona.
And it is particularly true for current head coach Ronald Koeman as his Barcelona boss Joan Laporta has already clarified.
Koeman’s Contract Renewal with Barcelona Is Conditional
According to Marca’s football news, the club’s CEO and president Joan Laporta wants Ronaldo Koeman to win trophies for Barcelona this season.
Furthermore, the club management are insisting on giving Riqui Puig and Samuel Umtiti relevance in the squad.
The Dutch coach been unwilling to feature those two players so far. However, Laporta likes Riqui Puig and he wants to see him enjoy more playing minutes.
Regardless of all this, Koeman is a coach who is unlikely to give in to selection demands. If he does play Riqui Puig it’ll be because of the latter’s good performances in training.
As for Umtiti, Koeman appreciates how hard he worked to recover, but he “isn’t at the level required to playing in the starting eleven”.
