According to Diario AS, Kylian Mbappe referred to his Paris Saint-Germain teammate Achraf Hakimi as “my brother” on social media. So, it seems, Mbappe and Hakimi are best friends at PSG, as per one of Mbappe’s most recent Instagram stories.
The Madrid press has speculated on what a friendship with Achraf Hakimi at PSG could mean for Kylian Mbappe’s future.
After all, Hakimi came through the youth system at Real Madrid, which is Mbappe’s transfer destination (football news). And Hakimi only left Real Madrid for Italy last summer.
Karim Benzema, Mbappe’s strike partner with the French national team, is another teammate with close ties to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Their Euro 2020 campaign ended in France losing in an ignominious penalty shootout against Switzerland. After this flop international summer, the pair, Benzema and Mbappe, even went on vacation together to Mykonos.
Regardless of the motivations of these so-called double agents, Mbappe will make the final decision on whether he chooses Real.
At the moment, all indications point to the French striker finishing the final year of his contract. He will remain at Parc des Princes, resisting football transfers this season, before departing as a free agent in 2022.
Mbappe and Hakimi Are Best Friends at PSG
Kylian Mbappe has posted a photo of the pair in the dressing room after Paris Saint-Germain’s latest victory in Ligue 1. They secured a 4-2 victory over Racing Strasbourg on Saturday.
There is also a behind-the-scenes photograph of the pair, who are relaxing in an ice bath together after the game.
Despite the fact that Hakimi only arrived in Paris this summer from Inter, the pair clearly have great chemistry. They get along really well, really quickly, both on and off the field.
Mbappe speaks fluent Spanish and he has thus been instrumental in Hakimi’s adjustment to the PSG dressing room.
