Mo Salah: Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah since his arrival in Merseyside in 2017; has been one of the best forwards in world football. The Egyptian who has scored 115 goals in 173 games has already achieved legendary status among Liverpool supporters. Having won five trophies with the club till date.
His current contract with the club runs out in the summer of 2023 and talks of extending the contract never progressed. With reports claiming the Egyptian’s agent had demanded a contract of £500,000 a week, comparable to that of Manchester United’s Ronaldo and City’s De Bruyne.
It was largely speculated that Salah would not be signing an extension with the club. And would either leave this summer for a fee or leave the next year on a free.
However, according to latest reports; we hear that Salah is set to sign an extension that would see him potentially retire at LFC. He has made the decision following the love and support he has received from the club and the fans. Especially with hard times in his international career.
Mo Salah: To remain a Scouser until the end of his career
This is according to the Mirror, who had revealed it through a report on Sunday.
“But now Salah, who appreciates the affection for him on Merseyside which was once again displayed again this week in Liverpool consoling him over Egypt missing out on the World Cup finals, is prepared to compromise on his initial demands of matching the likes of Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo’s £500,000-a-week wage packet.
“That could involve an extra 12 months on the three years which have been discussed. Which would effectively see him play out the best remaining years of his career with the club he joined almost five years ago.”
Other newspapers including The Sunday Express and The Daily Star have also revealed similar reports on Sunday.
