Naby Keita has signed for Werder Bremen. The 28-year-old midfielder enters the Weserstadion on a free transfer as he ran out of his contract with Liverpool.
Keita returns to Werder Bremen in Bundesliga
The Guinea international is making his comeback in the Bundesliga through his switch to Die Grün-Weißen The midfielder previously played in Germany for RB Leipzig. “Werder is a special club and I remember the Weserstadion from my time in Leipzig. The club and the philosophy suit me, it’s the right step for me,” Keïta said on the club’s website.
At Liverpool, which bought him for sixty million euros in 2017, Keita could never live up to the high expectations. Under Jürgen Klopp, the Guinean played 129 games in the Premier League, eight of which in the past year. With The Reds, Keïta won the national title, the Champions League and the FA Cup, among other things.

Keïta has signed for three seasons in Northern Germany.
Foster (40) sticks around for another year after an unprecedented adventure
Ben Foster sticks to it for another year. The forty-year-old goalkeeper of Wrexham AFC, promoted to League Two, will sign until the summer of 2024.
Wrexham, the club of actor Ryan Reynolds, was recently promoted to League Two and has already set new goals. Foster needs to be part of that. The goalkeeper announced his football retirement last summer, but was nevertheless signed by Wrexham in March. He played eight games and was worth gold in the game against Notts County, in which he saved a penalty kick. As a result, Wrexham took three points from Notts in the battle for the title in the National League, England’s fifth tier.
“At the end of the season I realized that I really like it here. The fans have welcomed me so warmly. This is what I want to do now. I’ve never felt more comfortable as quickly as at this club,” says Foster. “All focus is now on winning League Two.”
Foster started his career in 2001 with Stoke City. He then played for Bristol City, Tiverton Town, Stafford Rangers, Kidderminster Harriers, Wrexham, Manchester United, Watford, Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion. Foster has played eight caps for England.
