Olympique Lyon manager Peter Bosz is having a difficult time. On Friday, the Dutch coach lost in Ligue 1 for the sixth straight game. Following a tie against Toulouse following four straight losses, Alexandre Lacazette was taken aback by a Bosz decision.
Friday’s clash at the Groupama Stadium saw the hosts take on newly promoted side Toulouse. OL failed to double their lead for more than an hour. They ended up conceding the equaliser late in the game.
After a four-match losing streak, the manager has been drawing a lot of criticism. This heat has come from not just the fans and media, but his own players.
Olympique Lyon manager Peter Bosz criticised by Alexandre Lacazette following draw against Toulouse
Alexandre Lacazette who made his return to the French outfit this summer is one of the senior players in the squid. The striker has questioned the tactics of his gaffer.
After the draw, while the Lyon players were leaving the field, they were given a flute concert. Lacazette stated in front of the Prime Video camera, “That’s only right. Although we outperformed the opposition, our defence was lacking.”
Lacazette was astounded by the substitution of Jeff Reine-Adelaide for Moussa Dembélé immediately following the 1-1 tie. “Having Moussa at the point was good. In any case, we must respect the trainer’s decisions. I don’t understand why a striker is taken off the side when we need to score as a striker. I enjoy playing with Moussa.”
It was also regrettable that Lacazette did not publicly show his support for Lyon manager Peter Bosz. “I aim to triumph in sports. His future is not something I get to decide. Do not assume that nothing is occurring because there is a lot of chatter going on behind the scenes. We are making every effort to change the tide. We’ll continue to work,” the former Arsenal man concluded.
