Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho is attracting strong interest from England, with Aston Villa, Everton, and Liverpool keen, we can confirm.
The Blaugrana are eager to offload the player, and raise funds through other football transfers, to clear wages. After all, they are currently trying to register inbound star Ferran Torres and set up other moves.
So, Barcelona are ready to seek other attacking midfield options as a sale clears his hefty salary from their books.
As for Coutinho himself, the 29-year-old is starving for game time at a club where he hasn’t quite fit in. He has started just 13 matches over the past two league campaigns and is eager to exit Camp Nou.
However, a move back to Brazil is not viable at this moment because of Coutinho’s football objectives and wage demands. So, in a way, the Brazilian himself shut down a return to his homeland with his conditions (football news).
Philippe Coutinho Is Attracting Strong Interest from England
In any case, though, Coutinho would rather move back to England than head back to his country – Brazil. England would offer the Barcelona midfielder a familiar home and the chance to resurrect his career.
And while no formal offer has been made, it seems direct conversations between Coutinho and English clubs are ahead.
Aston Villa, Everton and Liverpool would all provide storyline destinations for the player.
Coutinho’s former team-mate Steven Gerrard coaches at Villa, whereas a return to Merseyside would be emotional for all involved. (Liverpool is a former club of Coutinho’s.)
