Jack Harrison scored three goals for Leeds United to give them a 2-3 victory over West Ham United on Sunday. So, in last night’s Premier League football news, Leeds won on a Harrison hat-trick.
The win lifted Leeds to 15th, nine points above the relegation zone.
West Ham remained fourth with 37 points but the three sides below them. Arsenal (35), Tottenham (33) and Manchester United (32) all have at least two games in hand.
“We have got this far and doing really well. We are still in the top four at the minute,” Declan Rice said about his West Ham team’s performance. “This was a big chance to close the gap on Chelsea in second, but that is football. It is about how you bounce back.”
Premier League Football News – Leeds Won on a Harrison Hat-trick
10 minutes after the starting of the match, Harrison opened the scoring in the guests’ favour with a pinpoint finish.
Jarrod Bowen, however, equalised for West Ham with a header in the 34th minute. And this equalizer was his fourth goal in his last three games (football news).
But Harrison slid the ball in from close range just three minutes later and gave Leeds the half-time lead.
Weakened Leeds were further handicapped when Junior Firpo and Adam Forshaw had to be substituted midway through the first half.
Then, Pablo Fornals levelled again for West Ham with a precise finish seven minutes after the break.
But Leeds responded to this weakening as well as this second leveller, too, and in magnificent fashion.
Harrison’s deft finish after Raphinha’s dazzling play restored their lead and Raphinha himself rattled the woodwork with a superb free-kick.
Leeds, on an incredible roll, had an effort by Mateusz Klich ruled out for a harsh offside. But then, at exactly the hour mark, Harrison completed his trifecta by striking over Fabianski after Raphinha, again, threaded a pass to him.
