Premier League Football News – West Ham Beat Bottom Club Norwich 2-0
Bowen, whom West Ham manager David Moyes touted for an England call-up, suffered one invalid effort in the first half. But he eventually did head home a goal in the 42nd minute.
In fact, Bowen has directly contributed toward scoring 12 Premier League goals this season with five goals and seven assists.
And it is his form that is helping West Ham maintain their push to try. Who knows – at this rate, he might even help bring Champions League football to the London Stadium.
Here too, last night, Bowen could have had a hat-trick had referees counted, and not disqualified, his first-half effort. Instead, they ruled that Nikola Vlasic was in an offside position and interfering with Krul.
Norwich, who have now lost six league games in a row without scoring, competed well in the first half. But they then slipped behind when Bowen nodded the ball in from Vladimir Coufal’s cross.
Bowen struck the woodwork twice after that and, meanwhile, Norwich came close to a surprise leveller. Idah showed great footwork before firing a shot, but that shot, Fabianski touched against the post.
Bowen then sealed the points to make the West Ham home fans happy with celebrations and leave Norwich sinking fast.
