Raul may be Eintracht Frankfurt’s next coach. The German club reportedly want him to lead their first-team as their manager.
For now, the Real Madrid legend is back with the Blancos, acting as head coach of their Castilla side.
But the former Spain international spent time in Germany with Schalke during his playing career.
And if Eintracht convince him, he may be groomed for a return to the Bundesliga, this time as a manager.
Why Raul Is on the Radar?
Raul secured an iconic status with Real as their striker.
The Real Madrid goal scorer, now 43 years old, was recognized from amongst their youth ranks.
He then went on to make in 741 appearances for the La Liga giants. He scored 323 goals across those outings with Real, while netting 44 times in earning 102 caps with Spain.
Raul is now in the process of trying to get Castilla promoted to the Spanish second division as their coach.
Raul May Be Eintracht Frankfurt’s Next Coach
Goal has discovered that Eintracht have been monitoring Raul’s progress in the dugout for over a year.
And Eintracht are planning for a return for Raul to the Bundesliga soon, this summer.
That is curious, because rumors linked Raul to Real Madrid, despite already coaching there.
Reports in January primed him as the ideal replacement to Zinedine Zidane, who’s now safe, as the first-team head coach.
Initial talks between Eintracht and Raul have taken place, but further meetings have been put on hold.
The two parties will likely wait till the end of the season as either side tries to end the 2020-21 campaign on a positive note.
