wHad the season in England lasted a few weeks longer in England, relegation-threatened Chelsea would be realistic. The club has been performing very poorly for months in a row and will end the season in the gray middle bracket. Owner Todd Boehly, who has shelled out millions since taking over the club, will have failed to impress fans with his most recent public appearance.
Chelsea owner comes up with the biggest cliché in times of crisis: “We want to win”
Boehly joined a conference of the Milken Institute, an economic organization. The American has not been out too much in recent weeks, while Chelsea went on a nine-game winning streak. During the conference he opened a can of clichés.
“The fans are demanding, they want to win. We understand that, we also want to win,” Boehly is not ready to give up after his hefty investment in the London club. “This is a long-term project, we are going for the long term. We believe we’re going to get out of here, we play in the best league in the world, in the best city in the world. We have a beautiful location in the best city in the world.”
Chelsea has therefore not won nine games in a row and closes the season with games against AFC Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United. The club is currently twelfth, nine points from the relegation zone.
Arsenal fans poke fun at Mudryk, one fan arrested after action with laser pointer
Police in London have arrested an Arsenal supporter for targeting Chelsea player Mikhaylo Mudryk with a laser pointer. Arsenal have confirmed that.
Chelsea lost against Arsenal on Tuesday evening: 3-1. The club lost the last six games and has been without a win since March 18.
Mudryk came on in the 71st minute, but didn’t impress. He was already whistled on the sidelines by Arsenal fans and then also attacked with a laser pointer. The responsible supporter has been handcuffed by the London police. Arsenal have labeled the incident as ‘dangerous and totally unacceptable’ and will cooperate fully with any police investigation.
The fact that Arsenal fans don’t like Mudryk is not surprising. The Ukrainian spoke positively about Arsenal several times and was also on his way to that club, until Chelsea hijacked the transfer at the last minute and Mudryk went there. At Stamford Bridge, the man of 100 million euros is mainly on the bench.
