Roma legend De Rossi appeared in an interview at the Social Football Summit. He joined the interview hosted by Matteo Marani alongside Italian head-coach Roberto Mancini.
He discussed a number of things. Which included technology in football, the coaching style then versus now. Most significantly he was all praises of Napoli striker Giacomo Raspadori. Who carried Italy to the final four of the Nations LEague.
Daniele said, “Raspadori is a young gentleman and a generational talent. You’re glad to see that these guys are following my earlier example. Perhaps it was harder to emerge earlier, but Mancini has tried many of these, and when they were used in the right context, they worked well.”
Roma legend De Rossi continues, “We live less on the street, in the parks, and on the beach. There is certainly a dearth in the selection of players. There is still raw material, albeit less of it. If you have the confidence to chose them, there are now 4-5 guys lower on the sub-list than I. These players are fortunate to have a coach (Mancini, ed.) who supports them and is not hesitant to select them, therefore I advise them to play, even in the Under.
“Of this group I like the fact that it was able to be reborn from its own ashes – continues De Rossi -. From mine, to be precise. From Italy-Sweden. Thanks to Mancini who brought cordiality, lets the players live . I have had so many. different coaches in Azzurro: there were times that I was happy to go to the national team, others where he weighed a little more. The European Championship was a strong experience also because of Covid, but if they had asked us we would have stopped all 10 more days “.
