The Fiorentina players continued a good series in the introductory part of the new season. In the 6th round of Serie A, they beat Udinese 1-0 away, on the road. And yesterday saw, among other Serie A football news, Empoli triumph 4-2 over Bologna. Also, while Fiorentina defeated Udinese 0-1 away, Sassuolo beat Salernitana with the same score at home.
At the Friuli Stadium, Fiorentina recorded their fourth victory of the season, thanks to Serbian footballer Dušan Vlahović.
Vlahović scored a penalty in the 16th minute, which was enough to give the Tuscan club all the three points.
With this victory, Fiorentina jumped to the division of fourth place in the standings.
Elsewhere in Serie A, Sassuolo recorded only the second victory of the season when they defeated the last-placed Salernitana 1-0.
Berardi, who is a Italian national team player, scored the only goal of this match.
