Thomas Tuchel has been fired by Chelsea Football Club. The club has made the decision, following a slow start by the club this season. This should also result in the first time the new ownership appoints a manager.
During the 100 matches, the German has managed at the club his win record is 60.0. This includes 60 wins, 24 draws and 16 losses.
He also won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup in 2021.
The Blues announced, ‘Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with Head Coach Thomas Tuchel.
‘On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club.
‘Chelsea’s coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of our upcoming matches as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach.
‘There will be no further comment until a new head coach appointment is made.’
“I’m angry on myself,” he said in his final press conference. “I’m angry on our performance. It’s not aggressive enough on the ball, it’s not enough individually or enough as a team.
“Not a lot [of players are playing at the top of their game]. It’s obvious that we’re underperforming. It’s a lack of determination. A lack of hunger and intensity. You cannot expect to win games. We are clearly nowhere near where we want to be.
“I didn’t see it coming that’s why I know I’m angry on myself. There is no day off in the next days, don’t worry. There cannot be a day off at the moment.”
