After Arne Slot announced that he would stay with Feyenoord, Tottenham turns to Ange Postecoglou. According to Sky Sports, the Celtic manager is the main candidate to take over at the London club next season.
Tottenham switches attention to Celtic manager after missing out on Slot, Silva and Nagelsmann
Slot was at the top of Tottenham’s list for a long time, but he extended his contract with Feyenoord, forcing Tottenham to switch. Sky Sports previously reported that Postecoglou, along with Roberto De Zerbi from Brighton & Hove Albion and Marco Silva from Fulham, were the next names on the list. Now it appears that the Australian is the main candidate.
Postecoglou has been at the helm of Celtic since the summer of 2021. He has achieved great success with this in the past two years. He won the national title twice and the League Cup twice. This season he can even win the domestic treble if he beats Inverness CT in the Scottish Cup final on Saturday. In total, Postecoglou won 82 of his 112 games with Celtic.
Tottenham Hotspur are looking for a permanent replacement for Antonio Conte who was sacked earlier this season. Then Christian Stellini took over, but he was also not allowed to finish the season. Ryan Mason was responsible for Tottenham in the last games of the season. Postecoglou should become the new manager next season. He has previously managed Yokohama F. Marinos, Melbourne Victory, Brisbane Roar FC and the Australia national team.
Luton Town has a start date for successor of nostalgic Kenilworth Road
Staying in England, Luton Town will start construction of the new stadium at the end of this year. As a result, football fans can enjoy the nostalgic Kenilworth Road for a while.
It had been known for some time that the newly promoted club had construction plans for a new stadium. However, a date has now been put on it. The first pile must go into the ground on December 19, 2023.
Illustrations show how Luton Town places the stadium between all kinds of high-rise buildings. An apartment overlooking and perhaps in a stadium; that sounds like every football fan’s dream.
Luton Town managed to get promoted to the Premier League for the first time in history at the expense of Coventry City. Erling Haaland, Bukayo Saka, Mo Salah and Marcus Rashford can therefore enjoy Kenilworth Road next season.
