Croatian football is in mourning for the untimely death of young, native defender Marin Cacic who is 23 years old. Among Thursday’s less tragic football news, Croatian player Marin Cacic died while in training, wherein he suffered a heart attack.
Cacic started his career with youth teams in Rijeka and enjoyed a spell in Italy with lower league side Isernia.
Eventually, though, he ended up at NK Nehaj, which is a Croatian club native to the town of Senj. They play in the second tier of the football league system in Croatia.
However, local reports from yesterday say that the centre-half ‘suddenly collapsed during training’ after suffering a ‘heart attack’.
The NK Nehaj player collapsed during a training session a few days ago. Because of this, he was taken to hospital where he was placed into a coma.
The defender had reportedly had a heart attack and later, in the hospital, succumbed to the trauma and passed away.
