Amourricho van Axel Dongen remains an Ajax player. The eighteen-year-old talent will sign a new four-year contract with the team from Amsterdam.
Ajax extends with coveted Van Axel Dongen
Van Axel Dongen made his debut last season under trainer Erik ten Hag in the away game against FC Utrecht. It remained with that one game in the main force, partly due to injuries.
The youth international had an expiring contract and was in the interest of clubs from England and Germany. Nevertheless, Van Axel Dongen chooses to remain loyal to the club where he went through the youth academy.
Ajax and Pasveer (39) extends his contract
Remko Pasveer has reached an agreement with Ajax about extending his expiring contract. The 39-year-old keeper has extended until mid-2024.
Pasveer came over from Vitesse in the summer of 2021 and has since played fifty official matches for Ajax. He was a basic customer in twelve Champions League matches and even earned a call-up for the Dutch national team. Pasveer came to two international matches under national coach Louis van Gaal.
Since last winter he has been reserve goalkeeper behind Gerónimo Rulli. Nevertheless, the veteran has now extended his expiring contract by one season. Pasveer, who will turn forty in November, is therefore fixed until the summer of 2024.
German top clubs prey on Álvarez
Edson Álvarez may continue his career in Germany. The 25-year-old Mexican, who still has a contract with Ajax until mid-2025, is in the explicit interest of Borussia Dortmund. Bayern Munich is also interested in the midfielder.
The German top clubs have been following Álvarez’s performance closely for some time now and see him as the desired summer reinforcement for midfield. The 62-time international came over four years ago, in the summer of 2019, for fifteen million euros from the Mexican Club América.
Álvarez had a difficult start at Ajax, after which he grew into an important link in midfield. Last summer, Chelsea was still concrete for the Mexican and prepared to pay a transfer fee of more than fifty million euros. However, the team from Amsterdam did not let him go. The chance of a transfer this summer is very high. Last year, Sébastien Haller exchanged Ajax for Borussia Dortmund, while Noussair Mazraoui and Ryan Gravenberch left for Bayern Munich. Since the winter break, Daley Blind has also played for the leader of the Bundesliga.
