Newly appointed Watford manager, Rob Edwards in a recent interview with the club’s website discussed settling down at the club. “I’ve settled in really well this week,” said Edwards, 39. “I’ve loved it, and I feel really at home already. The staff have been working really well, the players have been great and came back in great shape. They’ve been really receptive to how we want to work.
“We’re still trying to get to know everyone as individuals which will take some time, but we’re trying to get around everyone and have conversations to try to learn about them as people because they’re not just robots.
“When I’ve had these chats with the players, it doesn’t matter what level you work at, they want the same things – respect and honesty. Of course, we’re going to be organised and have a way of playing, and hopefully, we can help them and improve them as players, but they want the same things, whether you’re working in League Two like we were last year, or in the Championship.
“Getting to know the lads in Watford is really important to us. And we’ll be able to do that more as time goes on. It’s been really intense but really enjoyable. There’s a great vibe here, I’ve got a brilliant group of staff, and the players have been like sponges.
“They’ve been really keen to get to work and they seem to be buying into what we’re trying to do. The first few days have been brilliant and I couldn’t ask for more.”
