BMW Ladies Championship: After shooting a seven-under 65 in the final round of the BMW Ladies Championship on Sunday, Lydia Ko captured her 18th career LPGA Tour victory in South Korea.
At Oak Valley Country Club, the Kiwi of Korean descent raised the trophy after finishing four shots ahead of American Andrea Lee.
Ko won $30,000 and made eight birdies to just one bogey. She was born and raised in South Korea before relocating to New Zealand at the age of four; this is her first victory there.
The best South Korean players were Hye-Jin Choi and Hyo Joo Kim, who finished tied for third with Lilia Vu of the United States at 16 under. In the final round, Choi and Kim both fired 68s.
Atthaya Thitikul, the overnight leader from Thailand, finished alone in sixth place with a 12-under 275.

Ko, the fifth-ranked golfer in the world, became the sixth LPGA player to have multiple victories this year. Her maiden victory came at the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio in January. Her multiple victories this year are her first since 2016.
Ko remarked, “If only it was simple.” “It was a really crowded leaderboard, you know. I was aware that I had to be on my game.
“If someone plays better than me and I don’t end up winning, all I can do is stick to my target of five under.
“Being back in the winners’ circle is wonderful. Winning in Korea, where I was born, means a lot to me and makes it extra meaningful, in my opinion.”
