PGA Tour: Justin Thomas waits till the end of the year to reveal his annual goals, and he also seems hesitant to express what he dreams about.
But this time, he was powerless to resist.
Thomas tweeted on Sunday morning, “I typically wouldn’t share a dream I had (because that’s odd right? ),” but “this nightmare made me giggle.”
The on-course reporter and podcaster Colt Knost, a former Tour pro, obtained a sponsor exemption into the RBC Heritage, which is hosted annually at Harbour Town in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Thomas continued. The two then engaged in a three-hole playoff before Thomas bogeyed the third hole. Knost then played well enough to force a playoff with Thomas. Knost, who already holds two Korn Ferry Tour victories and, of course, won the U.S. Amateur and U.S. Amateur Public Links in 2007, was left with a 1-foot putt to secure his first PGA Tour victory.
Justin Thomas said, “And he wouldn’t stop talking crap to me (very on brand)”. It even to the point where he pulled out his radio equipment, started the show before his putt, and discussed it live on the air while making the shot to defeat me. I was shaken when I awoke.
I’m relieved to learn that @ColtKnost needs a dream in order to win the Tour.
In response to the remembrance, Knost made a reference to defeating Thomas (recently? )at Michael Jordan’s golf course, The Grove XXIII, in South Florida.
Knost typed, “3&2 at The Grove.” I’m sorry about that.
