LPGA players: The QBE Shootout is scheduled to return from December 7–11 and will feature a distinguished field once more.
The lineup will feature two LPGA players for the first time in the tournament’s 22-year history: Lexi Thompson and Nelly Korda. While Thompson will play at the Tiburon Golf Club for the sixth time, Korda will compete in the competition for the first time.
Six of the top 30 and ten of the top 50 male players in the world will be among the 24-player lineup. Billy Horschel, Cameron Young, the PGA Tour’s Rookie of the Year, Max Homa, Kevin Kisner, Corey Conners, Tom Hoge, K.H. Lee, Brian Harman, and Harris English are some of these athletes.
Along with previous QBE Shootout winners Trey Mullinax, J.J. Spaun, and Sepp Straka, the field will also include three-time Shootout champions Matt Kuchar, Jason Day, and QBE Shootout veterans Steve Stricker, Charley Hoffman, and Ryan Palmer.
Also making their QBE Shootout debuts are Sahith Theegala, Denny McCarthy, Maverick McNealy, and Keith Mitchell.
Due to their defections to LIV Golf, defending champions Kevin Na and Jason Kokrak are not in the field.
According to Todd Jones, CEO of QBE North America, “QBE is happy to be supporting the QBE Shootout again this year and we are thrilled with the field released today.” “I am particularly thrilled that two LPGA stars – Lexi Thompson and Nelly Korda – will join the field in Naples. The calibre of the players competing for makes for an interesting event.”
The competition will once more follow a scramble structure for the first round, a modified alternative shot format on Saturday, and a better ball format on Sunday for the championship round. The teams’ identities will be revealed later.
