It was the first time that City had reached the final of the Champions League. But Pep Guardiola’s side ran out of luck as finalists.
The Citizens suffered a defeat, whereas not many will argue that Chelsea did not deserve to win over them.
However, in the aftermath, former City star Silva, who joined Real Sociedad last summer, posted the following message on Twitter:

City Lost a Treble
City won the Premier League title this season. It was the Citizens’ third league title in four years.
Moreover, they won the EPL after also winning the Carabao Cup 2020-21, making them, arguably, the best team in England.
Pep Guardiola’s side did indeed win the Carabao Cup this season, beating Tottenham Hotspur in the final.
And as they also qualified as deserving finalists for Champions League 2020-21, they could’ve secured an English treble this season.
However, it will be a disappointment for City that they could not win the Champions League, and hence, a treble.

And, after all, Thomas Tuchel has demonstrated, as the new coach of Chelsea, how to overcome newfound disappointment in style.
