Tennis News: Rafael Nadal, who has been quite active on social media since the season finished last month, just uploaded a brief film with the highlights of his nine-day exhibition tour of Latin America.
On December 1, the Spaniard wrapped up his eagerly anticipated tour after travelling to and performing in six different South American nations. He was paired with World No. 3 Casper Ruud; they competed against one another up to five times, with Nadal triumphing four times. All five contests were decided in one set each.
The 22-time Grand Slam winner released a video to his Instagram account on Sunday that featured still images and highlights from his journey to South America. He asked his followers if they appreciated the video while saying how much he enjoyed his trip to Latin America.
“What a wonderful trip we had in Latin America. Here, I’ve provided a brief visual summary of my travels through Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, and Mexico. How about this video?” on Instagram, he posted.

The 36-year-old shared the court alongside former Argentine stars Gabriela Sabatini and Gisela Dulko, Alejandro Tabilo, the 102nd-ranked Chilean player, Martin de la Puente, the World No. 1 doubles player in wheelchair doubles, and Gustavo Fernandez in addition to playing Ruud.
As the tour progressed, spectators from all over the world witnessed a number of memorable moments, including the player-fan interactions, the two players playing football in an airport, entertaining the crowd with unusual tennis, or Nadal declaring that he and Roger Federer would play a match in Colombia in the future.
The Spaniard hinted that he might have played his final game in Mexico when speaking to the audience on the final day.
“The 2024 season seems far away, and Acapulco 2023 is not on my calendar, so this will probably be the last time I play in Mexico. I find it difficult to leave you,” he said.
