The Boston Celtics came back to beat the Atlanta Hawks 105-95 on Sunday thanks to a strong third quarter.
The victory was Boston’s eighth in a row, giving them the NBA’s longest ongoing winning streak. The Celtics haven’t lost since losing in Atlanta on January 28.
Boston overcame a 10-point halftime disadvantage and took control of the game for good in the third quarter, scoring a season-high 42 points to Atlanta’s 23.
Jayson Tatum led the team with 38 points, including 16 in the third quarter, and 10 rebounds.
The Hawks, who have now lost back-to-back games and four of their last five, were led by point guard Trae Young, who scored 30 points and gave out 10 assists. Bogdan Bogdanovic led the team with a season-high 26 points.
Indiana Pacers 129-120 Minnesota Timberwolves
The visiting Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Indiana Pacers 129-120 to stop a two-game losing streak. Anthony Edwards shot seven 3-pointers and scored 37 points to lead seven players in double digits.
Minnesota led by as many as 18 points in the third quarter, thanks to D’Angelo Russell’s 23 points and Karl-Anthony Towns’ 15 points and 13 rebounds. Minnesota made 18 of 34 (32.9 per cent) from the 3-point range and led by as many as 18 points.
Despite a great performance from Oshae Brissett, who set season highs with 22 points and 13 rebounds, Indiana dropped its sixth straight game.
