Boxing Fight: “Sign the agreement and start the fight!”
After the two got into a fight backstage following Martin Bakole’s sensational third-round stoppage of Ihor Shevadzutskyi in Poland on Saturday night, Bakole made the call to Dillian Whyte.
Bakole declared himself a “monster” who is prepared to “take over” the heavyweight division, saying that the only opponent he is currently capable of facing is Dillian Whyte.
“Whyte is avoiding us. He only has arguments and insults. He should fight, in my opinion. He can insult me if he beats me. Make the fight happen by signing the agreement.”
After destroying Shevadzutskyi, Bakole criticised a number of the division’s top fighters, including Oleksandr Usyk, Daniel Dubois, and Deontay Wilder.
“I am confident I can stop all of these men,” the 29-year-old stated. I have amazing boxing and punching skills. I should take over the division now. They are terrified and are avoiding me.
“I’m a monster, people stay away from me.”
“I fought the likes of Daniel Dubois, [Derek] Chisora, Joe Joyce, Anthony Joshua, and the Gipsy King [Tyson Fury].
“If you ask every coach, they all have positive things to say about me. They never say anything negative. I’m a beast.
“I smashed Daniel Dubois’ nose while sparring and stopped Usyk with a body shot. Twice I stopped him. I believe that is the cause of their avoidance of me.”
Ben Shalom, CEO of BOXXER, stated that he was now searching for Bakole to replace Wilder because the American is currently ranked first in the WBA while Bakole is ranked second.
“Wilder took over my place,” Bakole continued. “Since I’m supposed to be No. 1, I’d be thrilled to meet him.
“I’m requesting that the WBA president, Gilberto Mendoza Jr., arrange that match. He’s No. 1, I’m No. 2. Why not fight?”
