Boxing Live: By assisting Franchon Crews-Dezurn in devising another humiliating loss for the British fighter, Claressa Shields has rekindled her feud with Savannah Marshall.
At The AO Arena in Manchester on June 17, Marshall faces Crews-Dezurn for the WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO super-middleweight belts on the undercard of Liam Smith’s rematch with Chris Eubank Jr.
Shields defeated Marshall at The O2 in October of last year for the undisputed middleweight title, but he is now helping Crews-Dezurn spar as he gets ready to take on the Hartlepool boxer.
According to Shields’ promoter Dmitriy Salita, “Claressa and Franchon have a long-standing relationship from the amateurs.”

When Shields defends her middleweight crown against Hanna Gabriels in Detroit on June 3, she may further establish her position as an elite champion.
“Iron sharpens iron, as they say. It only made sense,” Salita remarked because both parties frequently battle in close proximity to one another.
“This is comparable to Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins sparring in the 1990s when both were world champions at their best.”
On their professional debuts, the unbeaten Shields and Crews-Dezurn engaged in a thrilling four-round match that resulted in a points victory for the Shields.
