Boxing News: When Kell Brook apologised for the viral video of him snorting a white drug, he said that retirement had been “challenging.”
Following the release of a video showing the former welterweight champion attempting to snort the white powder, Kell Brook issued an apology on social media.
After knocking out longtime adversary Amir Khan in the sixth round in Manchester in May, Brook announced his retirement from boxing at the age of 36. Since then, he has not competed.
He acknowledged in his public apology that he found life difficult away from boxing.
Brook posted on Twitter, “I messed up, I hold my hands up & want to apologise to my family gym friends & fans.”

It’s no secret that I struggle with mental health & I’m finding retirement really hard. I’m actively seeking the help I need to get me on the right path. Again i apologise for the hurt I’ve caused

“It’s no secret that I have mental health issues, and I’m finding retirement very difficult.
“I’m actively looking for the support I need to put myself on the correct track. I’m sorry once more if I hurt anyone.”
In 43 professional fights, Brook concluded his career with 40 victories and three losses, with 28 of those victories coming by way of knockout.
Gennadiy Golovkin, Terence Crawford, and Errol Spence Jr., three highly regarded boxers, were the only ones to defeat him.
Despite retiring, Chris Eubank Jr. has now emerged as a potential opponent for Brook, who has been frequently mentioned as considering a comeback to boxing in the wake of Special K’s victory over Khan.
Ben Shalom, CEO of Boxxer, recently informed Sky Sports that Brook was “desperate” to compete against the victor of Eubank Jr. and Liam Smith’s fight in Manchester, which ended with Smith’s fourth-round knockout victory.
After the video went viral, Brooks’ manager Thompson said: “This is a thing that has sort of gotten out of hand.”
“They were laughing while they were in his place. They were laughing and making jokes. They should record him laughing,” he told them.
Additionally, Thompson refuted the claim that the white powder was cocaine.
