Boxing News: After 10 rounds, Zak Chelli defeated Anthony Sims of Los Angeles by unanimous decision.
Before the fight, Zak Chelli and Anthony Sims were still very much in love. Chelli did indeed conclude their discussion on Friday by saying, “I loathe this man.”
However, they were hesitant in the opening round as they looked for gaps.
The Fulham guy hurried, but as he reached for Sims, he moved forward.
Sims was able to grab him with his left hook as a result. Although Chelli is a naturally aggressive fighter, he was finding himself being pinned back despite his best efforts to stick to his right.
But in the fourth round, he did score a cracking right over the top. Sims had to tie him up in order to leave and continue boxing.
The infrequent victories Chelli was having with his sweeping overarm rights persisted. Sims did not show any signs of distress during the first half of the fight, despite the hits clattering into him.
But he didn’t act with enough urgency. Sims continued to box slowly, with Chelli exerting more effort than Sims.
In the seventh round, Chelli became more outgoing as her confidence grew. In order to get more activity, he banged his gloves together. He did, however, carelessly stray onto a huge left hook. He responded to Sims with a left hook as a result.
Sims opened up with a massive flurry in the eighth round after sensing that he had injured Chelli. These assaults put the Fulham guy in danger. He attempted to return blows before trying to clinch the American.
After surviving the storm, he launched his own head punches in the ensuing round. Chelli outlasted the American in the tenth and final round, winning 99-92 in a victory that was a career-high for her.
Chelli afterwards said, “It doesn’t get much better. I’m pleased with the win.”
“I want to believe that I outboxed the opponent.”
Tyler Denny defeated previously unbeaten challenger Brad Pauls on a unanimous points score to successfully defend the English middleweight belt.
After 10 rounds, Denny won it 98-93 twice and 97-93 once.
Denny’s southpaw jab was timid in the first two rounds as he searched for the “Newquay Bomb.” Still managing to land powerful blows, the challenger clipped Denny with a left hook.
But in the third round, Denny’s long left shocked Pauls’s head back with an explosive explosion. After that assault, the Newquay guy had to roll his neck to shake out his shoulders before going back to his corner.
Working inside behind a powerful straight one-two, Denny continued to advance. The English champion controlled the first half of the match as thudding punches rattled on Pauls’ sides.
