PCB: In order to establish a core ahead of the action-packed season, the Pakistani men’s national selection committee has invited players to participate in specialist camps at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The two camps will take place from June 10-15 (for spinners) and June 16-21 (for fast bowlers), and a total of 13 spinners, 11 fast bowlers, and 14 batters will participate.
Coaches from the national team and NCA will oversee the training sessions for the men’s, Shaheens, and U19 teams in Pakistan. The purpose of the camps is to assist the selectors in putting together the finest team possible for the next two-match Test series in Sri Lanka in July. In the third cycle of the World Test Championship, this series will be Pakistan’s first assignment.
In order to enable them bowl longer periods in sessions that are specifically intended to improve their abilities and also test their fitness under challenging conditions, separate camps for fast and spin bowlers have been established, according to an article in Cricket Pakistan. The hitters will also be required to bat for extended periods of time.
In order to teach the young players “The Pakistan Way” and make them aware of the demands of the national team as they work hard to represent Pakistan at the highest level, players from all levels have been brought together. The youth will gain from experienced players’ expertise at the camp as well.
Players who have “No-Objection Certificates” and participate in County cricket or other leagues will continue to do so. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan (both flying for the Hajj) and Sarfaraz Ahmed (personal obligations), as well as Mohammad Nawaz (recovery for a finger injury), have been excused from the camp.
