PCB: The identities of the four members of the selection committee were verified by the PCB after Grant Bradburn was formally named as team Pakistan’s head coach. In addition to Bradburn and Mickey Arthur, who will be in charge of the national squad and the U19 side, the apex board approved the selection of two more individuals.
According to the PCB, the newly established committee is led by Haroon Rashid, who also serves as secretary of the selection committee, and Hassan Cheema, manager of analytics and team planning for the national men’s side. The new panel members, who will assist Arthur and Bradburn in formulating plans for the national squad, were officially announced by the cricket governing body in a statement.
“The presence of Cheema, who has worked as strategy manager and data analyst in franchise cricket around the world, Arthur, and Bradburn will aid in strategizing for the approaching and upcoming series, enhance the bench strength, and provide a proper pathway for performing players in Shaheens and U19 sides to graduate to the national side,” according to a PCB statement.

Notably, PCB director Najam Sethi stated that the national team selection process will entail the utilisation of data, a subject that Hassan Cheema is knowledgeable with. It is important to note that Hassan served as the strategy manager for Islamabad United, a Pakistan Super League (PSL) team.
According to Sethi, who was reported by The News International, “We want to use incorporate data in our selection and Hassan is an expert in this field.”
Following a thorough hiring procedure, the PCB formally named Grant Bradburn as the head coach of the national team on Sunday, May 13. Prior to becoming the director of high-performance coaching in 2021, Bradburn worked as a fielding coach in 2018 and afterwards as such.
